Fabric-to-Fabric Lamination
Fabric-to-Fabric Lamination
Lamination is the process of bonding two or more fabric layers together with a special adhesive layer in between. This technique provides enhanced durability, functionality, and versatility to the material.
The adhesive layer may vary depending on the intended use. In some applications, it forms a strong and thick layer that becomes an essential part of the “sandwich” structure, while in others, it serves as a thin adhesive film simply joining the fabrics together. This flexibility allows the final product to be both lightweight and durable.
A laminated fabric is defined as a composite material created by combining at least one textile surface with another layer through adhesive application, or by bonding multiple layers using their own adhesive properties.
