Interfacing Overview
Interfacing is an intermediate layer attached to fabric to achieve the desired appearance, quality, and effect in garments. It adds volume and strength, supports stitching, washing, and ironing, and helps garments maintain shape, reduce wrinkling, and achieve a specific stiffness or form.

Interfacing can be made with one or both sides coated with heat-activated polymer adhesive that bonds with fabric under heat and pressure. Pressing ensures the adhesive melts, penetrates the fabric, and solidifies to create a strong bond.
